Under the direction of the Chief Engineer I, the Stationary Engineer works with fellow engineers, other trades people and inmate workers in repairing and maintaining the refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and mechanical/electrical systems throughout Folsom State Prison.

Folsom State Prison is located approximately 30 miles east of downtown Sacramento and just minutes from old town Folsom.

 

The grounds of the prison are surrounded by beautiful landscaping and friendly wild animals (deer, squirrels, turkeys, geese, etc.)

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
