We're hiring a Social Media Manager at Fokus.
Fokus is a done-for-you content agency for service-based business owners (legal, medical, real estate, home services, fitness, finance, coaching). We script, record, edit, and publish daily content for 300 clients across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook. Studios in Houston and Dallas, fully remote team.
The Social Media Manager seat is one of the most important roles in the company. You own the brand. We're being upfront about what that actually means so neither of us wastes time.
What you'll actually do
- Manage a roster of 3-6 client brands (your base covers 4, additional brands add to your pay)
- Take real ownership of each brand: know what they do, who they're for, and where they're trying to go
- Feed the script writer with strong ideas weekly; you understand the brand best, so the ideas start with you
- Research what's working in each client's industry (Google Trends, TikTok viral, Instagram viral) and bring those references into the content plan
- Post daily across IG, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook
- Analyze content performance week over week and report back with clear takeaways: what's working, what's not, what we're doing more of, what we're cutting
- Communicate proactively. If views are flat, you flag it and bring a plan, not silence.
You'll be a fit if you have
- Real social media experience. You've run pages, you understand the platforms, you know what good content looks like and why it works.
- Strong ideation muscle. You can produce 20 hook ideas for a brand you've never worked with before.
- Analytical mind. You can look at a content dashboard and tell a story from the numbers.
- Smart with AI tools. You use ChatGPT as a thinking partner, not a copy-paste machine. You feed it brand context, references, and iterate.
- Sharp time management. Mornings handle posting, the rest of the day is ideation, analysis, and reporting.
- Ownership mentality. You treat each brand like your own business, because the more brands you handle well, the more you earn.
This isn't for you if
- You log in, post, log out, and call it a day
- Your idea of "using ChatGPT" is one-line prompts and pasting the output
- You stay quiet when content is underperforming
- You're not in a position to commit to a full-time role right now (life happens; if that's the case, reapply in a few months)
- You make excuses instead of solutions in your first two weeks
Compensation
- Base salary covers 4 brands
- Each additional brand (up to 6) adds to your base
- Performance bonuses tied to brand growth (views, engagement, retention)
- Think of it as your own business inside the company. The more brands you handle well, the more you earn.
Setup
- Fully remote, full-time
- Tools you'll live in: ClickUp, Airtable, Slack, VistaSocial, plus native analytics across IG, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook
