This role is specifically for serving students with special needs in a dedicated classroom environment. If you are comfortable writing IEPs, and want to work in a supportive, high-impact setting, this is the opportunity for you.What You’ll DoAs a Special Education Teacher Math, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality math instruction while managing all aspects of IEP development and compliance for your caseload. You will:Instruction & Student SupportTeach math in a self-contained classroom aligned to students’ IEP goalsProvide direct Specially Designed Instruction (SAI) in-person or virtuallyMonitor student progress on IEP goals and adjust instruction as neededCollaborate with general education staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and supports are in placeIEP Development Write and manage IEPs, including academic goals, accommodations, and servicesConduct academic assessments and draft comprehensive reportsCoordinate services with related providers (OT, SLP, etc.)Ensure all IEP documents are accurate, timely, and compliantSchedule and lead IEP meetings; send meeting notices and follow up on attendanceCommunication & CollaborationMaintain regular communication with families, including monthly check-insLiaise with general education teachers and service providers to track student progressProvide consultation and professional guidance on accommodations and modificationsDocumentation & ComplianceMaintain up-to-date service logs, contact logs, and student dataDraft and submit Prior Written Notices, Assessment Plans, ITPs, and other required documentsTrack IEP timelines and ensure timely delivery of all services and reportsSubmit reports to families and collect all necessary signaturesWho You AreYou are a highly qualified, emotionally intelligent educator who thrives in a collaborative and student-centered environment.
