JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Supports the facility through physical security, asset protection, access control, crime prevention, compliance enforcement, incident documentation & investigation, and resident & staff education.
• Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.
• Provides assistance, guidance and direction to visitors and vendors. Ascertains the nature of their business; assists and/or directs visitors and patients to various locations in the facility when appropriate.
• Receives messages, flowers, newspapers, and other items; notifies appropriate personnel. Maintains log of items received; delivers or arranges for the delivery of items to residents and appropriate personnel.
• Maintains directory and files on active and discharged residents, their location, resident status, and other pertinent information according to established procedure.
• Directs inquiries regarding resident condition to appropriate personnel.
• Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
• Attends meetings as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
• Maintains operations, policies, and procedures that minimize the risk of: death or bodily injury; damage to or loss of property and facility assets; compromise of confidential information; damage to or loss of facility reputation or certification.
• Implements and adheres to policies concerning staff identification, resident visitation, contractor identification and access, searches, resident property storage, preservation of evidence, incident reporting, and emergency planning.
  
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: 1-year experience as a security guard in a healthcare setting.
