Job Summary
The Training & Development Specialist plays a critical role in driving organizational learning and growth. This position is responsible for assessing training needs, designing and delivering effective programs, and supporting leaders and employees through coaching and development. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping others succeed, highly organized, and skilled at facilitating learning in both in-person and virtual environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and analyze training needs at individual, team, and organizational levels.
- Conduct interviews, surveys, focus groups, and review performance data to identify skill gaps and development opportunities.
- Design and develop training programs, curricula, and learning materials aligned with business goals and learning objectives.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate, relevant, and engaging.
- Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars in various formats (classroom, virtual, blended).
- Adapt delivery style to match audience needs and learning preferences.
- Assist with one-on-one coaching to employees to support performance improvement, leadership development, and career growth.
- Partner with leaders to reinforce learning and build organizational capability.
- Program evaluation and measurement.
- Collect and analyze feedback, performance metrics, and learning data to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Recommend and implement improvements based on evaluation findings.
Logistics & Administration
- Coordinate training schedules, manage resources, and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure compliance with company standards for documentation and reporting.
- Stay current on emerging learning trends, tools, and best practices.
- Introduce innovative ideas to enhance the employee learning experience and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in training, instructional design, or curriculum development.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and coaching abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Ability to travel for business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in oil & gas or similar operational environments.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Relevant certifications (ATD, SHRM, CPTM).
