Fluvanna Veterinary is a new small animal clinic set to open its doors this fall and serve the communities surrounding Palmyra. We are dedicated to providing the highest standard of veterinary care with compassion. Our team is committed to excellence in pet health and client care. We are seeking a friendly and organized Veterinary Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our clients and their pets.
Job Summary:
The Veterinary Receptionist plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive client experience by providing excellent customer service, managing appointments, and supporting the veterinary team in day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a love for animals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet clients and their pets with a warm and welcoming attitude.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments efficiently.
- Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and provide general information to clients.
- Check in and check out patients, process payments, and handle invoices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and pet records in the practice management system.
- Assist with filling out and processing necessary paperwork.
- Communicate with veterinarians and technicians to relay important client and patient information.
· Keep the reception area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
· Handle sensitive situations with empathy, including pet emergencies and end-of-life care discussions.
· Promote clinic services and products as needed.
· Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
· Previous experience as a receptionist in a veterinary clinic (minimum of 2 years).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency in computer systems and scheduling software.
- Compassion for animals and an understanding of client needs.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
