We are seeking a motivated Veterinary Technician to join our team and help us continue building an exceptional veterinary experience for both patients and pet owners.
Job Summary
The Veterinary Technician plays a vital role in patient care, anesthesia monitoring, nursing support, laboratory procedures, client communication, and assisting veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
· Obtain patient histories and vital signs.
· Safely restrain and handle animals during examinations and procedures.
· Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
· Monitor hospitalized patients and provide nursing care.
· Collect and prepare laboratory samples including blood, urine, fecal, and cytology specimens.
· Perform in-house laboratory testing and assist with diagnostic imaging.
· Prepare patients for surgery and dental procedures.
· Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia patients.
· Monitor vital parameters during procedures and maintain anesthesia records.
· Prepare and maintain sterile surgical instruments and equipment.
· Assist veterinarians during surgical and dental procedures.
· Educate clients on medications, preventative care, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary treatment and surgical environment.
· Accurately maintain medical records and documentation.
· Collaborate effectively with veterinarians, assistants, and reception staff.
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
· Active Veterinary Technician License preferred (LVT/CVT/RVT).
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in a small animal veterinary practice preferred.
· Strong knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, laboratory procedures, and patient care.
· Excellent animal handling and restraint skills.
· Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
· Familiarity with veterinary practice management software is preferred.
· Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
