Texas distribution company is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join their Houston office. This position will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to valued clients and supporting a team of Account Managers and Service Technicians.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In the performance of their respective tasks and duties the employee hired will be expected to conform to the following:
Physical requirements for positions include: arm and hand steadiness and finger dexterity enough to use a keyboard and telephone; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; may be subject to walking, standing, sitting, and reaching; and vision, speech, and hearing sufficient to perform the essential tasks. Any physical restrictions should be discussed or noted within the interview process.

Summary:
Texas distribution company is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join their Houston office. This position will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to valued clients and supporting a team of Account Managers and Service Technicians.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide price and availability on any standard part or item directly to customers. This is anything in P21 (in house accounting system) or anything that can be obtained by part or model number from company’s electronic and hardcopy price lists or from our principals or suppliers.
- Take and solicit orders from customers over the phone.
- Update CRM daily.
- Process orders (enter into P21, place orders with suppliers or select to ship from our stock).
- Expedite orders and maintain contact with customers and suppliers.
- Follow up on orders to ensure critical deliveries.
- Make and maintain manual order files and general customer files, alphabetical by calendar year.
- Complete and submit vendor qualification forms, safety and insurance documents as needed.
- Resolve any order problems related to delivery or paperwork issues directly with customer and inform salesperson.
- Handle all inquiries/contacts in a professional manner.
- Work in concert with an outside sales force; funnel leads/opportunities to the team.
- Communicate with field service technicians who perform in-plant repair of customers’ equipment.
- Interface with vendor staff to prepare detailed proposals for engineered equipment.
- Customer service experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or experience equivalent.
- Ability to address concerns and communicate clearly and efficiently.
- Ability to convey a positive, customer-friendly disposition.
- Strong organizational, communication and time management skills.
- Strong customer service focus with a passion to exceed customer requirements.
- High energy, drive and sense of responsibility.
- Punctuality: this is an 8AM – 5PM position, Monday-Friday
