Overview
Flotek is seeking a highly motivated Buyer to join our team based in Houston, Texas. This position will be responsible for creating, managing, and executing Purchase Orders with our Suppliers. The successful candidate communicates across multiple departments within the organization including, Client Fulfillment, Accounting and Manufacturing. The role will utilize ERP systems to process orders and make sure they are in compliance with the AR/AP team. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and the proven capability of working within a team environment to accomplish multiple deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Inventory & Planning Manager will have direct responsibility for the following:
- Create, modify, reconcile, and process Purchase Orders for materials
- Work with freight carriers to schedule pickups of purchase orders
- Provide regular updates on all PO deliveries to internal stakeholders
- Engage with AR/AP teams to resolve any exceptions/corrections
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data correctness across multiple systems
- Ability to manage a variety of projects/tasks at any given time
- Other projects as requested by the executive team
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following competencies:
- Commitment to high integrity, ethics and professionalism consistent with Flotek’s mission, vision and values
- A strong working knowledge deciphering supplier BOLs/PODs and Credit Memos
- A strong understanding of material movement through a 3rd party logistics provider
- An operational knowledge of Supply Planning elements and processes including incoterms
- Ability to prioritize and complete a multitude of time-sensitive tasks in an accurate, efficient and collaborative manner
- Creative in finding strategic, practical and clear solutions to complex issues
- Possess strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with ability to sustain effective relationships with peers, employees, and external stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment with tight deadlines
- Effectively identifying and communicating risks and guidance to others
Education and Experience
- 5 years in procurement or supply chain management experience in the oil and gas industry
- Knowledge of chemical manufacturing and distribution
- Experience with ERP Systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SmartSheets and PowerBI
