Overview
The Florida Sheriffs Risk Management Fund (FSRMF) is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join our growing and dynamic FSRMF Team. The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for supporting the technical needs of the staff that serve our members. This position works with all business units, providing support and expertise, including but not limited to, desktop computer installation and deployment, application deployment and technical support, endpoint management using remote monitoring and management tools, account provisioning, process documentation, and user training. The Desktop Support Technician reports directly to the Director of Information Technology.
Responsibilities
- Install Operating System, application software and associated peripheral equipment on Desktops and Laptops issued to staff
- Support and Manage Windows Desktops using Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools
- Deploy Operating System and application patches to desktop computers to maintain supportability and address security vulnerabilities
- Provision and manage user credentials across all business applications and services
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with business applications installed on the Desktop, including (but not limited to) authentication, performance, appearance, deployment, upgrades, telemetry, configuration, training, and change management
- Provide training and support to end users for desktop and web applications utilized by staff to perform business functions
- Provide Training and guidance to internal staff on security best practices, including the identification of potential threats and indications of security compromises
- Provision Microsoft Office 365 applications and services
- Provision and support mobile devices issued to users, including application installation, updates, troubleshooting, and user support
- Securely decommission and wipe sensitive data from equipment that is being removed from service
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in end-user support and managing desktop computer systems
- Experience in desktop computer systems administration, and managing the security and availability of associated services
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Windows, Office and desktop application management
Preferences
- A bachelor’s degree (or comparable industry certifications) related to information systems
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Presentation and training skills

- The candidate offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation
- Ability to work onsite during business hours at the FSRMF office
- Must have valid Florida Driver’s License
- Ability to work remotely as required
- Ability to physically lift 50 lbs. and sufficient agility to install computer equipment
Salary/Benefits
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 and is based on the candidate’s experience.
