Key Responsibilities
- Manage and perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations (bank, credit cards, payroll, and balance sheet accounts)
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and prepare timely financial reports
- Prepare and oversee monthly revenue, operating performance, and expense reports, including review of staff-prepared work
- Assist with internal management reports, budgets, and forecasts
- Oversee day-to-day AP, AR, and payroll support activities
- Review vendor statements, customer balances, and aging reports
- Support internal controls, process improvements, audits, and tax requests
- Work closely with and support an accounting team of 1–2 staff members
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2–4 years of well-rounded, full-cycle accounting experience
- Month-end close and financial reporting experience
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- A valid driver’s license, with reliable transportation to and from work.
- Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Be able to sit for long periods, standing and using limbs/fingers to perform necessary job functions
- Able to work, M-F, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM in an office setting. This is not a remote position.
- Experience in flooring, construction, or building materials
- QFloors (current ERP), RFMS (former ERP), or Paylocity (Payroll) experience
- Growth opportunity into a Controller position
