Accounting Manager

We are recruiting an Accounting Manager for a long standing organization in the Raleigh area. This role will lead core accounting operations, support strategic initiatives, and manage a high-performing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, collaboration, and strong leadership are key.

Responsibilities:

• Own the month-end close process, internal/external financial reporting, and support for audit and compliance activities.
• Drive special projects including the implementation of new accounting standards, systems upgrades, or process changes tied to organizational growth or M&A activity.
• Develop reporting and analysis frameworks to support evolving business needs and enhance visibility into financial performance.
• Monitor internal controls and play a key role in testing continuity and risk mitigation procedures.
• Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals. Set clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and identify professional development opportunities.
• Oversee accounting system functionality to ensure smooth support for close, reporting, and compliance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on systems enhancements and ensure accuracy and integrity across financial platforms.
• Serve as a liaison across departments, aligning accounting outputs with leadership priorities and company strategy.
• Coordinate closely with internal and external auditors and contribute to cross-functional initiatives requiring accounting expertise.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (CPA strongly preferred).
• 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of teams and ownership of complex processes.
• Deep understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and SOX frameworks.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
• Experience navigating accounting impacts in large, complex environments
