Flint Hills Technical College (FHTC) is seeking a Director of Practical Nursing and Allied Health to provide leadership for our nursing and allied health programs. This is an on-site position and is not eligible for remote work.
The Director is responsible for the overall administration, leadership, and continuous improvement of FHTC's nursing and allied health programs, ensuring compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation requirements while supporting faculty, students, and community healthcare partners.
Programs Overseen:
The Director provides leadership for the following programs/courses:
- Practical Nursing (LPN) Technical Certificate
- LPN IV Therapy Certification
- Healthcare Administration and Management AAS degree
- Allied Health Technology Technical Certificate
- Certified Medication Aide
- Certified Nurse Aide
- Home Health Aide
The Director ensures students develop the knowledge, clinical judgment, technical skills, and professional behaviors necessary for safe nursing practice, successful completion of program requirements, and eligibility for licensure through the Kansas State Board of Nursing (KSBN). The position also ensures compliance with certification requirements established by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS).
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in nursing from an accredited college/university required
- Current Kansas RN license
- Minimum of two years of teaching experience in an accredited nursing program or supervisory/leadership experience within the nursing profession
- Current working knowledge of clinical procedures, documentation, and healthcare practices
- Supervisory experience highly desired
Essential Functions:
- Perform administrative duties as the primary focus of responsibility for the position as assigned and as per KSBN guidelines.
- Manage retention of program faculty as well as recruitment, selection, and retention of adjunct faculty.
- Oversee the planning of semester class schedules and clinical rotations for students and faculty in compliance with KSBN and KDADS.
- Coordinate with the Kansas Board of Regents, Kansas State Board of Nursing (KSBN), and the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) and meet other state and federal regulations to maintain a certified professional program as well as accreditation requirements.
- Oversee the evaluation and revision of course content, textbooks, teaching resources, and evaluation materials with the assistance of the faculty.
- Coordinate the selection of students for the nursing programs following approved admission policies.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Full-time, exempt position, 12-months/year
- Salary range: $70,000-$85,000, commensurate with experience
