Position Overview
FGA seeks as proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support attorneys and litigation paralegals in a fast-paced practice. The Legal Assistant plays a key role in maintaining organized case files, ensuring filings and service are completed accurately, managing schedules and deadlines, and supporting day-to-day operations so matters move efficiently. Professionalism, discretion, responsiveness, and strong follow-through are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative and clerical support to attorneys and paralegals
- Format, proofread, and finalize correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents for filing and service
- Manage and organize physical and electronic case files within the Firm’s document management system
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, medical evaluations, meetings, and conference calls
- Prepare, scan, label, and file incoming and outgoing mail and maintain accurate filing logs
- Coordinate the filing and service of documents and assist with related administrative requirements
- Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, and reminders in Outlook as requested
- Communicate professionally with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and administrative agencies as directed
- Provide general office support, including printing, copying, scanning, and answering phones
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 3 years in a law firm and/or professional assistant role (e.g., administrative assistant, executive assistant, practice assistant)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and time management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
The salary for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 per year. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and an employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary annual bonus and salary increase.
