About the Opportunity
Our client, one of North America's leading environmental services and solid waste organizations, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily hauling operations in the Tulsa market. This leadership role is responsible for managing residential, front-load, and roll-off operations while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery.
The ideal candidate will bring strong transportation or logistics leadership experience, a proven ability to manage CDL drivers, and a hands-on approach to operational excellence, employee development, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all daily hauling operations, including Residential, Front-Load, and Roll-Off service lines.
- Manage a team of approximately 15 employees, including CDL drivers and operations personnel.
- Ensure routes are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule while meeting customer service expectations.
- Drive employee accountability through coaching, performance management, training, and ongoing development.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with DOT regulations, company safety policies, and operational procedures.
- Partner with dispatch and operations teams to optimize routing, fleet utilization, productivity, and service levels.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, ride-alongs, and operational reviews to improve performance and reduce risk.
- Analyze operational metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and cost control.
- Manage staffing levels, scheduling, attendance, and workforce planning to support operational demands.
- Maintain a strong leadership presence while fostering a positive, safety-focused culture.
Qualifications
- 3 years of leadership experience managing transportation, trucking, logistics, waste, fleet, or route-based operations.
- Demonstrated experience supervising CDL drivers and daily transportation operations.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, driver compliance requirements, fleet operations, and transportation safety standards.
- Experience managing employee performance, coaching teams, and driving accountability.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced operational environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency with operational reporting systems, routing software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Waste industry experience is preferred but not required.
- CDL license is highly preferred but not required.
