New Orleans, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an IT Specialist to provide hands-on technical support for employees and help maintain reliable day-to-day technology operations. This is an in-office position responsible for setting up laptops and equipment for new employees, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, providing general IT support, and assisting with audiovisual (AV) equipment for meetings and presentations. The ideal candidate is a dependable, service-oriented problem solver who can communicate effectively with users of varying technical skill levels.
Essential Duties:
• Set up, configure, and deploy laptops, workstations, monitors, peripherals, and other equipment for new employees.
• Assist with new-hire onboarding, including preparing computers, installing required software, and ensuring equipment is ready for use.
• Provide day-to-day technical support to employees for hardware, software, connectivity, printing, and other IT-related issues.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot laptop, desktop, peripheral, and common software problems.
• Install, configure, update, and maintain approved software and applications.
• Assist employees with password, account access, and basic system-related issues as needed.
• Set up and troubleshoot AV equipment for meetings, presentations, conference rooms, and video conferencing.
• Support conference room displays, cameras, microphones, speakers, and related equipment.
• Assist with maintaining an accurate inventory of laptops, accessories, and other IT equipment.
• Coordinate equipment repairs, replacements, and technical support with appropriate vendors when necessary.
• Document recurring technical issues and solutions to improve future troubleshooting and support.
• Maintain organized work areas, equipment, cables, and IT supplies.
• Follow established IT security practices and company policies when handling equipment, systems, accounts, and company information.
• Perform other IT-related duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements/Skills:
• Previous experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, or a similar technical support role preferred.
• Working knowledge of laptop and desktop computer setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with common business software, operating systems, printers, peripherals, and office technology.
• Experience setting up and troubleshooting AV and video conferencing equipment preferred.
• Basic understanding of networks, Wi-Fi, connectivity, and common office IT infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical employees.
• Strong customer-service skills with a patient and professional approach to employee support.
• Ability to prioritize multiple support requests and follow issues through to resolution.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with employees, management, and outside technical resources.
• Dependable, responsive, and willing to learn new systems and technologies.
• Ability to work on-site in New Orleans, LA.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout an office environment as needed.
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, move, and set up laptops, monitors, AV equipment, and other computer-related equipment.
• Ability to access workstations, conference rooms, desks, and equipment areas to install, connect, and troubleshoot technology.
