Quality Manager

New Orleans, LA : Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an experienced Quality Control Director (QCD) to oversee and manage the company’s quality assurance and quality control programs. This role is responsible for ensuring products, processes, and documentation consistently meet customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements. The Quality Control Director will lead the company’s ISO 9000 Quality Management System, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and promote a safety-first culture while ensuring error-free products and paperwork.

Essential Duties:
• Inspect incoming raw materials, in-process production items, and finished products to verify compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
• Manage and maintain the company’s ISO 9000 Quality Management System and support certification requirements.
• Review technical specifications and RFQs to confirm sourcing capabilities and production feasibility.
• Evaluate Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs) and ensure all customer quality requirements are met.
• Develop, implement, and maintain testing procedures and quality control processes.
• Conduct quality inspections and testing throughout production and prior to shipment.
• Prepare, review, and maintain Certificates of Conformance and other quality documentation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and subcontractors regarding quality requirements, technical specifications, and corrective actions.
• Establish and maintain company-wide quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Train employees on quality requirements, compliance standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with management and operations teams to identify and implement process improvements.
• Investigate quality issues and lead corrective and preventive action efforts.
• Support quality audits and ensure compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements.
• Travel occasionally to support customers, vendors, subcontractors, and project needs.

Requirements/Skills:
• Associate degree preferred and/or a minimum of five (5) years of related quality control experience.
• Certification in Quality Control or Quality Assurance strongly preferred.
• Experience maintaining and auditing ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems preferred.
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred but not required.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
• Experience developing testing procedures, quality plans, and quality documentation.
• Proven ability to train, mentor, and lead employees on quality standards and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality excellence.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work in both office and manufacturing facility environments.
• Ability to safely access production, warehouse, and worksite areas as needed.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and inspect products and materials for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to travel occasionally as required.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when working in production areas.
