Baton Rouge, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled Drafter to create technical and detailed drawings for commercial construction projects in a full-time opportunity.
Essential Duties
- Prepare detailed technical drawings and plans for construction projects using AutoCAD and related drafting software
- Collaborate closely with clients, engineers, architects, and project teams to ensure design accuracy and project requirements are met
- Review building codes, site requirements, and project specifications to identify impacts on building plans
- Revise and update drawings based on project changes, field conditions, and client feedback
- Conduct site visits to gather measurements, collect project data, and verify compliance with construction drawings
- Maintain organized project documentation and drawing records
- Assist with coordination between multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Requirements/Skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD Version 2018 or later
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
- Working knowledge of Revit preferred
- Understanding of commercial building codes preferred
- Knowledge of metal building construction preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate technical drawings
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods
- Ability to travel to project and construction sites as needed
- Ability to walk active construction sites and navigate uneven terrain
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Ability to visually review technical drawings and project documents
