Diesel / Heavy Equipment Mechanic
$30.00 - $35.00 per Hour | Full-Time | Overtime Available

FlexForce Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Diesel / Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of mobile equipment utilized in a large industrial manufacturing environment.
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on diesel-powered equipment, loaders, forklifts, agricultural equipment, hydraulic systems, and related machinery to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, heavy equipment, and mobile machinery
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment and fleet assets
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, fuel, and mechanical systems
- Inspect, repair, and replace components including pumps, motors, brakes, steering systems, and drivetrain components
- Service forklifts, loaders, agricultural equipment, and plant support vehicles
- Utilize diagnostic software, service manuals, and schematics to identify equipment failures
- Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately
- Perform equipment inspections and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, or Industrial Maintenance Technician
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mobile equipment repair
- Experience working on Caterpillar, John Deere, Case, Komatsu, Volvo, or similar equipment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and service manuals
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
- Valid driver's license required
