Sanitation Technician

• $18ph
• 3rd Shift, Monday Night - Saturday Morning, 10pm - 6am 
• Located  in Manitowoc, WI

Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize production machinery and equipment according to established procedures
• Operate production equipment as needed during the cleaning and sanitation process
• Hand-clean removable equipment parts and other production components
• Scrub equipment using approved cleaning chemicals, including caustic and acidic solutions
• Operate and control a heavy-duty sanitation hose and high-pressure hot water system
• Sweep, squeegee, and maintain production floors and surrounding work areas
• Follow proper chemical handling, food safety, and sanitation procedures
• Identify and report unsafe conditions or potential hazards to supervision
• Follow established safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Complete additional sanitation or production-related duties as assigned

• Previous sanitation, food production, manufacturing, or industrial cleaning experience preferred
• Approximately 6 months to 1 year of related experience is a plus
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling and workplace safety practices preferred
• Familiarity with USDA or other food manufacturing sanitation requirements is helpful
• Must be willing and able to complete forklift training/testing as required
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work safely around production equipment
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Ability to work with standard measurements involving weight, volume, and quantity

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
• Frequent use of hands to handle tools, equipment, hoses, and cleaning materials
• Frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 55 lbs.
• Ability to safely handle and control a 250 ft. sanitation hose
• Comfortable working in wet and humid conditions
• Ability to work around moving production equipment and industrial cleaning chemicals
• Comfortable working on platforms and ladders when required
• Work is performed in a cooler production environment averaging approximately 55°F
