Responsibilities
- Design various structural projects, including retaining walls, concrete tanks, buildings, and miscellaneous structures.
- Serve in a technical role on design projects.
- Perform structural analysis and design computations.
- Ensure that structural projects are designed in accordance with relevant codes.
- Prepare progress reports and communications for client.
- Represent firm and client at public meetings.
- Collaborate with other staff on multi-discipline projects.
- Train, coach, and mentor staff.
- Assist in business development and proposal efforts.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
- A PE registration in Michigan is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the structural design field.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
- Comfortable with structural design software.
- Design experience in timber, concrete, steel, and masonry structural building systems preferred.
