The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting the overall day to day operations of F&V's HR department. The HR Generalist is based out of our Grand Rapids, MI headquarters and works directly with our HR Manager supporting the life cycle of employees from hire to retire.

Responsibilities May Include, But Are Not Limited To
Employee Engagement
Support our top workplace culture as a resource to employees that may include:
- Participate in employee engagement and culture projects.
- Assist with employee events, retirement processes, and company communications.
- Support the administration and analysis of engagement surveys.
- Support offboarding processes and documentation.
Strong follow-up, listening, and empathy skills to support our mission to provide industry leading compensation and benefits.
- Assist with benefits administration.
- Coordinate leave administration
- Support completion of compensation/benefits surveys.
Strong Organization Skills To
- Assist with employee training coordination and tracking training needs.
- Support onboarding check-ins and feedback meetings.
- Support employee development initiatives and career pathway programs.
Strong attention to detail to help maintain our systems and documentation.
- Maintain HRIS data and employee files
- Work with the HR leadership team to optimize our HRIS, streamlining our processes and making it easy to use for our employees and managers.
- Assist with policy and handbook updates.
- Support compliance activities, including EEO-1, ACA, and client reporting.
Strong interpersonal and coordination skills to provide staffing support from job postings to onboarding.
- Job postings and screen resumes for open positions.
- Interview scheduling, pre-screening and reference checks.
- Assist in drafting offer letters.
- Coordinate the orientation/onboarding processes.
- Support college recruitment and talent pipeline initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist capacity.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
- HRIS data management and system optimization experience a plus.
