What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Technician - Winding position at FLANDERS ELECTRIC MOTOR SERVICE INC?
Our Lakeland, FL location is looking to hire a Utility Technician in the Winding department! This position is responsible for assisting Winders in dismantling and cleans parts. Acts as a floater in other departments filling in as needed.
Here's What You'll Do:
- Assist Winders with the dismantling.
- Cleans and transport parts as needed.
- Provide general maintenance support in Utility Department.
- Assist other departments in skilled and non-skilled duties as directed by shop management.
- Operate various pieces of equipment including a buffer, hand and air tools, sand blasting, forklifts and hoists.
- Follow established procedures/work instructions for assigned function.
- Handle materials in accordance with established procedures.
- Work in a timely manner to ensure customer needs are fulfilled and deadlines are met. Work at a pace that meets expected productivity goals.
Here's What You'll Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- One (1) year of hands-on mechanical experience preferred.
- Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job related training, operational, and safety procedures.
- Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision making related to routine duties within set company standards.
- Ability to operate overhead cranes, fork lift trucks, and other equipment.
- Ability to wear respirator.
