The Role
As Receptionist, you are the first point of contact and the pace-setter for each guest’s visit. You greet with warmth, verify IDs, manage the queue, coordinate online order pickups, keep the lobby organized, and ensure smooth handoffs to the sales floor. You help maintain clear communication, consistent standards, and a calm, professional lobby.
This role is ideal for someone who loves connecting with people, thrives in a fast-moving front-of-house setting, and takes pride in accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Front Desk & Guest Flow
- Greet guests, verify valid government ID, and check in visitors efficiently.
- Manage lobby flow and the waiting queue; coordinate handoffs to budtenders.
- Support online order pickups and confirm any required documentation.
- Keep the lobby clean, orderly, and stocked with current educational materials.
- Customer Experience & Education
- Provide a warm, professional welcome and basic store information.
- Answer phones and messages; route questions to the right team member.
- Share high-level education points and direct deeper product questions to the sales team.
- Compliance & Security
- Follow all ID verification, age-restriction, and access-control procedures.
- Maintain required logs and front-desk records with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Adhere to safety and incident-reporting protocols; escalate issues promptly.
- Operations & Communication
- Support opening and closing checklists and lobby merchandising touch-ups.
- Coordinate with management on queue status, wait times, and guest needs.
- Use front-desk software, messaging tools, and basic POS or scheduling systems as needed.
Qualifications
- Required
- At least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check.
- 1 year of customer service, hospitality, or front-desk experience.
- Clear, friendly communication and professional phone etiquette.
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented; able to maintain confidentiality.
- Comfort using basic software tools; willing to learn new systems.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Preferred
- Experience in cannabis retail, hospitality, or another regulated environment.
- Familiarity with ID verification, queue management, and online order workflows.
- Prior experience supporting security or incident escalation procedures.
