Our customers will see, smell, and learn about cannabis before purchasing, guided by knowledgeable budtenders who provide thoughtful recommendations tailored to individual needs. The Role
As a budtender, you will be the face of Flame & Flora. You are not just processing sales. You are a cannabis guide, an educator, and a storyteller. You will welcome first-time customers with patience and warmth and engage seasoned enthusiasts with depth and expertise. Your role is to create a safe, welcoming, and memorable experience that embodies the Flame & Flora standard.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Education and Experience
- Greet every customer with respect and genuine hospitality.
- Guide customers through cannabis selection with an emphasis on education, helping them understand that the best choice is based on effects, terpenes, and desired experience rather than potency.
- Share knowledge about cultivation methods, terpene profiles, product types, and consumption methods.
- Ensure customers understand dosing, responsible use, and the differences between product categories.
- Provide recommendations based on customer needs, preferences, and goals.
- Support the deli-style flower experience by showcasing product quality and helping customers make informed selections.
Product Expertise and Compliance
- Maintain strong knowledge of all Flame & Flora products, including flower, concentrates, edibles, topicals, and accessories.
- Stay current on new product releases, cannabis trends, and research.
- Accurately verify IDs and ensure all sales comply with Tribal ordinances and compact regulations.
- Use the POS system with precision for each transaction.
- Keep the sales floor and displays clean, professional, and brand aligned.
Team and Operations
- Work collaboratively with fellow budtenders, Assistant Managers, and the GM to ensure seamless customer service.
- Participate in training sessions and continuously expand cannabis and compliance knowledge.
- Help execute daily specials, promotions, and loyalty program offerings.
- Assist with inventory, stocking, and product organization as needed.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive team culture built on respect and accountability.
Qualifications
Required
- At least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check in accordance with Tribal regulations.
- Genuine passion for cannabis and commitment to customer education.
Preferred
- Prior cannabis retail or customer service experience.
- Strong understanding of cannabis products and their effects, or the desire to learn.
- Experience helping customers with varying levels of cannabis knowledge.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements in regulated industries.
