JOB SUMMARY:
The Talent & Culture Manager is a strategic, people-focused leader responsible for shaping and sustaining a high-performance, service-driven workplace. This role partners closely with leadership to identify talent needs, enhance employee engagement, and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across all levels of the organization. By leveraging data-driven insights and best practices, the Manager ensures that talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies align with and support the company’s growth and innovation goals. Ultimately, this position plays a critical role in building a resilient, motivated, and high-performing workforce that thrives in a dynamic environment.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Direct and manages the recruitment and selection process for all Club positions. Manages the posting of all positions, conducts interviews, and refers to the hiring department. Ensure that internal processes are followed in selecting the best talent for the Club.
- Develop staffing strategies, including internship programs, employee referral programs, minority recruitment efforts, job fairs, etc. Ensures hiring process for a variety of levels, from hourly to executive-level placements. Enhance staffing systems, tracks
- Supervises the Human Resources team; provides guidance and technical expertise on personnel processes.
- Interprets policies & procedures and provides advice to managers and supervisors regarding personnel practices, policy, and employment laws; administers unemployment insurance processes; reviews liability reports and monitors program costs; and recommends policy changes to the VP of Human Resources.
- Partner with leadership to assess workforce needs and build talent pipelines
- Build positive relationships and interact with all levels of staffing to promote a positive work environment.
- Lead initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture
- Attend staff meetings to keep abreast of current HR related topics.
- Communicates to VP of HR on employee issues and matters to take proactive measures.
- Build relationships across all levels to foster engagement and trust
- Support employee engagement and retention programs
- Maintain job descriptions and classification systems
- Manage employee relations and conflict resolution
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- Analyze trends and recommend improvements
- Maintains an internal workers’ compensation database.
- Assures compliance between FMLA, ADA, and WC.
- Support the Human Resources team with strategic initiatives
- Continuously improving HR systems and processes, moving the organization with a forward-thinking approach.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field
- 5 years of HR experience
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR practices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
- HR certification (SHRM or SPHR)
- Experience with HRIS and analytics tools
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks, including resolving complaints, counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, procedures, and union agreements.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources management and supervision.
- Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence, and presentations to senior leadership as required.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements, knowledge of immigration laws and processes a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of information technology, including hardware and software applications, is used in the Human Resources function.
- Proven leadership.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job function.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Office-based work environment
- Occasional lifting to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to work on Saturday, and or holidays.
- Occasionally, work may require extended hours.
