Job Summary

Develop new bank business relationships primarily through lending to small businesses and small real estate investors (defined as loan maximums of $1MM for C&I loans and $1.5MM for real estate loans.) Grow commercial deposits and cross sell banking products and services. Partners with Branch Managers, Credit Risk, Portfolio Managers and Loan Processors to execute customized financial solutions and manage the overall sales process.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Onboard, manage and grow loan portfolio as defined above.
  • Responsible for working with Loan Administrator to manage the portfolio as needed, including, but not limited to line of credit renewals, term loan re-sets and past due payments and loan servicing issues that arise.
  • Assess, thoroughly review, and analyze financial information to determine lending needs.
  • Solid understanding of cash flow and small business operating cycle and how business products and services can support businesses in the portfolio.
  • Develops and implements select customer referral strategies in order to increase client satisfaction and portfolio growth for business customers.
  • Arrange meetings between customers or prospective customers and appropriate bank representatives.
  • Negotiates credit terms, such as credit structure costs, loan repayment methods and collateral specifications.
  • Responsible for providing superior sales and service to our Small Business Banking customers and prospect base.
  • Identifies and provides the appropriate financial solutions which lend to maximum retention rates, growth, and profitability.
  • Contacts and visits prospective customers to determine product & service needs and perform sales presentations to match company’s products with identified needs.
  • Provides guidance to customers so that they may make informed decisions about their financial needs.
  • Ensure consistent approach on segment-related deals by previewing all deals to assist with credit concerns and facilitate deal flow.
  • Reviews all loan documents for accuracy prior to closing.
  • Properly and accurately execute all loan documents.
  • Properly files, or forwards for filing, all loan documents according to existing procedure once executed.
  • Represents the bank in various civic and community functions to enhance its image and develop new business.

Physical And Sensory Requirements

  • The position requires excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. While performing the essential functions of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to drive a motor vehicle to travel to client locations and events. The employee needs to communicate and exchange information with all levels of management, clients, and outside vendors. The employee must apply and estimate analytical data for trends and reporting purposes.

Education, Training And Experience

  • BS in Business Administration, Finance, preferred
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of banking and / or sales experience in a related environment
  • Three to five years of commercial lending business development sales
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of banking products and services
  • Knowledge of software/systems utilized between departments, specifically Salesforce, VIKAR
  • Excellent communication, credit, sales, and public relations skills
  • Must be a self-starter capable of developing new business
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
