Overview
We are seeking a senior Electrical Engineer to support LNG Engineering & Technical Services projects focused on plant electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. This role will be responsible for design review, specification development, technical oversight, and project execution support across industrial plant environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with electrical power systems, controls, instrumentation, and industrial process plant projects. This individual will collaborate closely with engineering teams, project managers, vendors, and construction personnel to ensure successful project delivery in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Support electrical, instrumentation, and controls projects within LNG/process plant environments
- Review engineering designs, specifications, vendor documents, submittals, and RFIs
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical subject matter expertise
- Assist with planning, execution, engineering, and management of capital projects
- Support onsite construction activities, including quality monitoring and technical troubleshooting
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards including NEC, NFPA, and related regulations
- Assist with project budgeting, cost estimation, bid specifications, and equipment selection
- Develop and support process and equipment procedures
- Maintain accurate project documentation for regulatory and operational purposes
- Identify and document lessons learned for future project improvements
- Coordinate internal and external resources to support project schedules and deliverables
- Support projects involving:
- Low and medium voltage power systems
- Switchgear and motor control centers
- VFDs and UPS systems
- PLC/DCS systems
- Instrumentation and controls
- Fiber optics and industrial security systems
Required Qualifications
- 8-10 years of relevant engineering experience
- Associate’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience supporting engineering, maintenance, construction, or technology projects within industrial/process plant environments
- Strong understanding of:
- AC/DC power systems
- Hazardous area classifications
- Transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and motors
- PLCs, DCS systems, instrumentation, and controls
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Experience supporting onsite construction and commissioning activities
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to perform basic electrical calculations for equipment and conductor sizing
Preferred Qualifications
- LNG industry experience
- Experience supporting industrial utility or manufacturing facilities
