Sales Tax Accountant — Up to $90k bonus
Our client, a global leader in innovative technology solutions, is hiring a Sales Tax Accountant. The Sales Tax Accountant will support multi-state sales and use tax compliance, ensuring timely filings, accurate reporting, and adherence to evolving state and local tax regulations. This role will also assist with tax research, audit support, journal entries, reconciliations, and maintenance of indirect tax systems. ***3 days in office, 2 days remote
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review multi-state sales and use tax returns
- Review purchase invoices, taxability, and use tax accruals
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
- Review and maintain customer exemption certificates
- Support external audit requests and tax documentation needs
- Maintain setups within Vertex O Series for sales and purchase transactions
- Research state and local tax rules for varying products and services
- Stay current with tax law changes and their impact on the business
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting preferred); CPA a plus
- 3 years of multi-state sales & use tax experience
- Proficiency with Vertex O Series / Vertex Returns or similar tax software
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
