Summary:
Responsible for North American payroll operations within a global organization, this role calls for a forward-thinking leader who can modernize processes, enhance efficiency, and build strong partnerships across Tax, Finance, and HR.
You'll lead a small, experienced team while ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing for both U.S. and Canadian employees. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical payroll knowledge with the ability to identify efficiencies, build cross-functional relationships, and guide team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. and Canadian employees, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, HR, and Tax teams to ensure data integrity and cohesive operations.
- Maintain compliance with multi-state, federal, and provincial payroll and tax regulations.
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of two payroll professionals, fostering growth and collaboration.
- Identify and implement process and technology improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage audits, reconciliations, filings, and remittances for payroll taxes and other statutory obligations.
- Oversee payroll integrations with benefit plans, 401(k), and other third-party systems.
- Provide strategic payroll insights, reporting, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field preferred.
- 5–7 years of progressive payroll experience, including both U.S. and Canadian payroll.
- 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Advanced proficiency in
ADP
(Workforce Now or GlobalView required). - Experience with
Oracle HCM Cloud
or similar HRIS platforms preferred. - Strong understanding of payroll taxation, compliance, and multi-state laws.
- Proven experience driving
process improvements
and implementing operational enhancements. - Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
- CPP or PCP certification
preferred but not required.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Hybrid:
2 days onsite weekly; 3 days remote. (During onboarding, 2–4 days onsite per week may be required.) - Hours:
