Our client, a leading organization in the energy and utilities sector, is seeking a Manager, IT Asset Management & Finance to lead the strategic and operational oversight of its enterprise IT asset portfolio. This position offers the opportunity to modernize and optimize the organization’s asset management lifecycle while directly influencing budgeting, forecasting, and technology governance processes.
The ideal candidate will bring a balance of technical and financial acumen — someone who can ensure compliance, drive operational efficiency, and lead a small team dedicated to optimizing IT investments and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the IT Asset Management team to improve productivity, reduce costs, and mitigate operational risks.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of hardware and software assets — acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
- Develop and enforce policies, standards, and controls to maintain compliance with licensing, auditing, and procurement requirements.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams (Desktop, Network, Systems, Voice/Data) to maintain enterprise technology standards.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement activities including renewals, licensing, and equipment refresh cycles.
- Conduct self-audits and respond to external software audits to ensure compliance and minimize risk exposure.
- Analyze departmental costs and performance using financial tools such as NPV, IRR, and sensitivity modeling; prepare reports and recommendations for process improvement.
- Oversee IT hardware/software budgeting and allocation processes; manage financial forecasting and cost tracking.
- Drive initiatives that improve efficiency and reduce costs through process re-engineering and system optimization.
- Lead team meetings, manage staff development, and provide regular performance reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in IT Asset Management within a large or enterprise environment.
- Proven experience managing budgeting, spending, cost controls, and reporting.
- Experience with BMC Helix Client Management, Jira Service Management, or similar IT Asset Management tools.
- Familiarity with Oracle Financials or comparable accounting systems.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across technical and non-technical teams.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives under pressure.
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects.
