What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at FirstPoint, Inc.?
FirstPoint, Inc. is a leading national provider of information and operation services, background screening resources, revenue cycle management, call center services, decision data and association management. We currently have an opening for a General Ledger Accountant in our Raleigh, NC association management division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
- Handle administrative tasks for the FPMR accounting department
- Check Mailbox daily, sort and distribute mail within the office
- Answer phones and directs calls appropriately
- Maintain excellent attendance
- Order office supplies
- Document processes and procedures for each accounting position
- Maintain Accounting training and reference manual
- Monitor postage machine
- Code invoices and process payments using GP Dynamics accounting software
- Assist with processing receipts
- Sort, register, scan, and store invoices, checks, and other documents
- Reconcile monthly credit card statements
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts as needed
- Enter daily key data of financial transactions in database
- Maintain files and storage of files, scan documents and maintain an orderly filing system
- Provide auditors and Director of Finance with information when needed
- Complete other special projects, tasks or duties as assigned by management
- Adhere to all guidelines set forth in the company handbook and other policies and procedures that may be enacted by management
Required Education and Experience
- Associate college degree in accounting, college degree in accounting or related field preferred.
Specific Skills/Knowledge
- Knowledge of accounting principles, Ability to work from manual spreadsheets to computerized reports, Ability to make rational, well informed decisions, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality. Must possess strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with co-workers.
