Warehouse Manager
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Full-Time | Leadership Role
FirstFour Staffing is seeking an experienced and highly organized Warehouse Manager to lead all day-to-day warehouse operations for a local client. This role oversees receiving, replenishment, inventory, and load crew functions while ensuring product integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. The Warehouse Manager partners closely with operations leadership, delivery teams, and cross-functional partners to maintain a safe, efficient, and high-performing warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee all warehouse employees to ensure duties are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Protect company product by enforcing procedures that prevent pilferage, damage, aging, or loss.
- Maintain strict adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Ensure proper rotation of product (oldest product loaded first) and monitor code dates.
- Verify daily inventory accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
- Manage delivery driver check-in/check-out processes, including counts of returns, empties, pallets, and carts.
- Oversee swaps, breakage, damage, and product returns.
- Confirm all reworked product meets brewery standards and is restocked before loading begins.
- Verify inbound shipments by matching physical counts to bills of lading and recording code dates.
- Ensure proper tagging, rotation, and organization of all warehouse rows.
- Maintain clean delivery trucks, warehouse spaces, grounds, keg yards, and pallet yards.
- Supervise unloading/loading of common carriers, bulk trucks, and internal transfers.
- Investigate and report all accidents occurring during the shift.
- Ensure cooperage, returns, and pallets are processed accurately and paperwork is submitted promptly.
- Maintain OSHA standards across the building and premises.
- Assist Operations Manager and HR with payroll, compliance, and labor law adherence.
- Maintain open communication with leadership, staff, vendors, and retailers.
- Perform all activities in compliance with local, state, and federal liquor control regulations.
- Adapt to new responsibilities as assigned to support operational, strategic, and financial goals.
Leadership & Supervision
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop warehouse management staff.
- Provide daily direction, coaching, and performance evaluations for warehouse personnel.
- Ensure employees understand expectations, values, strengths, and growth opportunities.
- Manage performance, discipline, and terminations according to company policies.
- Provide direct supervision to Delivery Managers and additional operations staff as assigned.
Training & Development
- Participate in internal and external training opportunities.
- Maintain forklift trainer certification and support staff certification initiatives.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for professional learning and continuous improvement.
Technology & Systems
- Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and office equipment effectively.
- Efficiently use operations management systems, including VIP or similar platforms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- (Relevant industry experience may substitute for degree.)
- Minimum 10 years of industry experience, including at least 3 years in upper management.
- Experience with transportation management and warehouse management software (VIP preferred).
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills across multiple audiences.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass background check, MVR, and drug screen.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to walk, speak, and hear.
- Ability to lift/move 20–50 lbs frequently.
- Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
- Occasional exposure to mechanical equipment and airborne particles.
- Frequent travel between sites.
- Occasional weekend or overtime work during start-up periods or new business transitions.
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
