JOB SUMMARY
The Compensation & Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with employment-related laws and regulations in a multi-state environment and administering compensation programs. This role partners with HR leadership to support compliance activities related to employees and HR operations and to maintain competitive, equitable pay practices. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people and collaborating as part of a team, while also excelling at independent, data-focused analysis and research.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor changes in employment regulatory guidance, proactively assessing impact, and recommending policy or practice updates.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws related to compensation and employee practices (e.g., FLSA, pay transparency, wage and hour requirements).
- Support internal and external audits related to HR operations, data integrity, and compliance.
- Collaborate with leadership and HR to develop, review, and maintain corporate policies.
- Conduct regular audits of HR processes and systems to ensure compliance and data accuracy and integrity.
- Manage the HR compliance lifecycle (e.g. EEO requirements, worksite reporting, and required annual reporting).
- Build people metrics reporting that is regularly shared with leadership. Maintain analytics dashboards within HRIS.
- Administer and maintain company compensation programs, including job evaluations, salary structures, and market benchmarking.
- Conduct compensation analyses to support hiring, promotions, and adjustments.
- Partner with people leaders on compensation decisions related to new hires, promotions, transfers, and role changes, providing data-driven guidance.
- Oversee incentive plan administration and reporting, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 1-3 years of experience in HR compliance, compensation, or related HR specialty.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS platforms is a must. Experience using data visualization tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local employment law, regulations, and compliance standards affecting employment and compensation practices in a multi-state environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain precise records, identify discrepancies, and ensure accuracy in compliance processes and compensation programming.
- Strong analytical skills with experience managing data, generating reports, and supporting data-driven decision making.
- Excellent priority management skills and ability to effectively handle concurrent tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

This position sits on the HR Operations team and reports to the Director of HR Operations.
