Responsibilities
- Design and execute individualized enrichment plans to promote mental stimulation and physical activity for dogs.
- Assist with dog training sessions utilizing positive reinforcement techniques.
- Monitor and assess canine behavior, documenting progress and adjusting enrichment activities accordingly.
- Handle dogs safely during daily interactions, ensuring proper animal restraint and care.
- Support veterinary staff with basic animal handling tasks as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the enrichment areas and kennels.
- Educate pet owners about behavioral needs, enrichment strategies, and pet care best practices.
- Assist with pet grooming, pet sitting, or other animal care duties as required.
- Heavy lifting of supplies or animals may be necessary during daily operations.
Requirements
- Prior experience in dog training, veterinary technician work, kennel management, or animal handling is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of pet grooming, pet sitting, veterinary assistant duties, or animal restraint techniques is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to handle dogs safely and confidently across various temperaments and sizes.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during daily activities.
- Passion for animal welfare with a genuine interest in canine behavior modification and enrichment.
- Prior experience working in veterinary clinics or animal shelters is a plus but not required. This role is vital in ensuring our canine residents receive compassionate care that promotes their health, happiness, and behavioral development.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
