Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial and commercial electrical systems in accordance with local electrical codes, NEC (National Electrical Code), and NFPA 70 standards.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring layouts and system configurations.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and other testing equipment to identify faults swiftly.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring installations safely on construction sites or renovation projects while following all electrical safety procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to ensure ongoing compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency.
- Install programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems critical for industrial automation processes.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment effectively for precise wiring tasks, conduit bending, framing carpentry related to electrical enclosures, and general handyman repairs as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience as an electrician with a focus on industrial or commercial environments; construction site experience is highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and schematics accurately for installation or troubleshooting purposes.
- Strong knowledge of local electrical codes including NEC regulations; familiarity with NFPA 70 compliance is essential.
- Experience working with high-voltage (HV) systems as well as low-voltage wiring for automation or communication systems.
- Skilled in diagnosing electrical system faults using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshooting procedures.
- Hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems including motors, transformers, switchgear, and control panels.
- Ability to work safely in diverse environments while adhering to all electrical safety procedures; previous renovation or construction experience is advantageous.
