Welder/Fabricator

Job Description:

First Priority Group is a diversified manufacturer, dealer, upfitter and service provider of emergency and specialty vehicles seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to support our customers at our new 75,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art production facility in Lakewood, New Jersey, offering the opportunity to be part of an exciting period of growth and expansion for the company.

Skill Level and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in metal fabrication and welding, a minimum of 3 years of AutoCAD experience, and hands-on experience operating plasma cutting tables and/or CNC machinery. Candidates should be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings, fabricating components from steel and aluminum, and producing high-quality work with a strong attention to detail. This position is responsible for fabricating custom components used in the production of ambulances that serve first responders across the country.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, assemble, and modify custom components for ambulances using steel, aluminum, and other metals.
• Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, work orders, and AutoCAD-generated fabrication drawings.
• Create and modify fabrication drawings and layouts using AutoCAD to support manufacturing and engineering requirements.
• Set up, program (as required), and operate CNC machinery and/or plasma cutting tables to produce precision parts.
• Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of materials while maintaining high-quality workmanship and structural integrity.
• Cut, drill, bend, grind, fit, and finish fabricated components to meet engineering specifications and quality standards.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring tools.
• Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to ensure accurate fabrication.
• Troubleshoot fabrication issues and recommend process improvements.
• Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, organized and safe work environment.
• Follow all company quality standards and safety procedures.
• Assist with custom fabrication projects as needed.

Full-time position: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM schedule
