Job Description
- Act as the Deployment Lead for optics network installations across the United States.
- Lead implementation activities for DWDM and IP/MPLS networks supporting hyperscale, utility, and service provider environments.
- Develop efficient deployment plans in partnership with the Project Management team.
- Conduct site surveys and perform fiber optic characterization.
- Install network equipment to GR-1275 standards, vendor requirements, and customer labeling/installation standards.
- Integrate equipment and provision services on platforms such as Ciena 6500/R, WaveServer, Nokia 1830, and Nokia XTM/GX.
- Perform network testing, turn-up, and troubleshooting for long-haul, metro, and regional optical architectures.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Visio, and Word.
- Ensure safety and quality throughout all project phases.
- Promote and teach a safety-first culture.
- Lead quality assurance efforts and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Execute all work in alignment with the Statement of Work, Method of Procedures, and safety plans.
- Mentor and guide junior staff to develop their technical capabilities.
Candidate Requirements
- Must reside in the Dallas metro area or central U.S. region.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience installing, turning up, and testing optical networking equipment.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, often with short-notice schedule changes.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Strong performance in cooperative, team-oriented environments.
