Contract Duration: 12 months (possible extension / conversion)

Pay Rate: $52-$66/hr w2


Project Overview

Join the team delivering the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) scope for one of the nation's most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities. This state-of-the-art project requires exceptional precision, strict quality standards, schedule discipline, and seamless coordination among thousands of construction and engineering professionals. As part of this team, you'll play a key role in supporting one of the most strategically significant infrastructure projects in the United States and help build the foundation for the next generation of microelectronics.


Position Summary

The Subcontracts Administrator is responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of EPC subcontracts, including sourcing, bid management, contract formation, negotiation, award, and ongoing administration. This role ensures subcontractors meet project requirements while proactively managing commercial, contractual, financial, and schedule-related matters throughout project execution.


Working closely with engineering, construction, procurement, and project leadership, the Subcontracts Administrator will lead procurement activities, monitor subcontract performance, administer contract changes, and help resolve contractual issues. Success in this role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, sound business judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple subcontract and service agreement activities simultaneously throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Lead subcontract formation activities, including sourcing and prequalifying bidders, preparing and issuing Requests for Proposal (RFPs), coordinating technical and commercial clarifications, evaluating bids, preparing commercial analyses, obtaining internal approvals, and drafting contract documents for execution.
  • Administer assigned subcontracts by monitoring performance, schedule, scope, and commercial compliance while identifying and communicating potential financial, technical, or contractual risks.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and process subcontract amendments, change orders, and other contract modifications.
  • Maintain accurate contract documentation, reporting tools, and subcontract status reports.
  • Coordinate and facilitate bid clarification, pre-award, and other contract-related meetings to ensure alignment among project stakeholders.
  • Implement and maintain subcontract administration procedures in accordance with project standards, including the Division Responsibilities Matrix and Standard Work Process Procedures.
  • Partner with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, and Project Controls to address issues affecting subcontract performance, contractual obligations, and project execution.
  • Support the Contracts team with administrative planning, staffing, budgeting, work-hour forecasting, and commercial risk management.
  • Participate in contractual discussions and negotiations with subcontractors and other stakeholders.
  • Promote clear communication and understanding of subcontract terms, conditions, and project expectations.
  • Monitor subcontract costs against scope and provide regular progress and financial reporting to project management.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical business practices in all interactions.


Qualifications


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field (or international equivalent), with 5-8 years of relevant experience; or
  • 9-12 years of directly related professional experience in lieu of a degree.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of subcontract or contract administration experience, preferably supporting EPC or large industrial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement practices, subcontracting processes, and contract administration principles.
  • Working knowledge of engineering and construction contracting practices.
  • Experience developing and administering various contract types, including:
  • Lump Sum Turnkey (LSTK)
  • Time & Materials (T&M)
  • Unit Rate (UR)
  • Knowledge of pricing methodologies, contract law, negotiations, and basic accounting principles.
  • Experience identifying contractual risks and recommending practical solutions to project leadership.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience preparing commercial evaluations, bid summaries, and contract documentation.
  • Proficiency using contract management systems and standard business software applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting field administration of EPC contracts is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage the formation, negotiation, award, and administration of large, moderately complex subcontracts.
