Work Schedule: 100% Onsite

Pay Rate: $54.46-$56.00/hr w2


Project Overview

Join a major LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) export facility located on a 984-acre site along the Brownsville Ship Channel. Phase I of the project includes three liquefaction trains, two LNG storage tanks, and one marine berth. Upon full completion, the five-train facility will have the capacity to produce approximately 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), making it one of the largest LNG export terminals in the region.


Position Summary

The ES&H Representative plays a key role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment by integrating environmental, safety, and health (ES&H) requirements into all phases of project planning, construction, and operations. This position supports risk management initiatives, conducts field inspections, participates in incident investigations, and ensures compliance with company, contractual, and regulatory safety requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in safety performance and work processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and execution of the project's Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) program, including both technical and administrative activities.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining Safety and Health Management Plans, supporting procedures, and employee training programs.
  • Partner with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other project teams to ensure safety requirements are incorporated into project planning and execution.
  • Interpret applicable safety and health regulations and provide guidance on compliance, risk assessments, and ES&H program implementation.
  • Research regulatory requirements and industry best practices while preparing reports, documentation, and recommendations.
  • Support safety studies, hazard analyses, risk assessments, audits, and program reviews.
  • Participate in emergency response activities, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to address safety concerns and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with clients, subcontractors, project teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform routine field inspections to identify hazards, verify corrective actions, evaluate safety controls, and ensure compliance with company policies, project requirements, and applicable regulations.


Qualifications


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field with 5-8 years of relevant experience; OR
  • 9-12 years of directly related professional experience in lieu of a degree.


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of construction safety management systems, policies, and best practices.
  • Experience in one or more specialized safety disciplines, including:
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • Fall Protection
  • Excavation Safety
  • Behavior-Based Safety (BBS)
  • Process, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering Safety
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and other applicable safety and health standards.
  • Understanding of engineering, construction, commissioning, and subcontractor work processes.
  • Experience conducting field inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in standard computer applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Engineering, Public Health, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another related technical discipline is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.


Physical & Work Environment Requirements

This position requires frequent field presence on an active construction site. Candidates must be able to:

  • Walk extensively throughout the project site, often in high heat and humid conditions.
  • Climb ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms.
  • Navigate uneven terrain and work in confined or restricted spaces.
  • Lift materials or equipment as needed.
  • Safely enter and exit all work areas throughout the project site.
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including harnesses, life vests, fall protection, and other task-specific equipment.
  • Work a flexible schedule as project needs require, including night shifts, split shifts, weekends, and overtime.
