WORK LOCATION and SCHEDULE

This position is a part-time, float/support role. It is based in our New Bern Branch, and is designed to provide support as needed in our Havelock and Morehead City Branches as well. 

• New Bern home base hours: 12 noon - 5 pm (as part of Teller Staff at New Bern Branch)
• As a Float/Support Teller: hours may vary depending on business needs, but will not exceed 28 hours per week.

Reliable transportation is required to be able to travel between branch locations. Mileage difference from New Bern branch will be compensated.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will:

• Accurately and efficiently process deposits, withdrawals, loan and credit card payments, transfers, money orders, and wire transactions in accordance with company procedures.
• Warmly welcome members into the branch and create an experience that reflects professionalism, care, and respect.
• Engage members in conversation to understand their needs and identify opportunities for loan and deposit referrals that support their financial goals.
• Maintain and balance a cash drawer daily with precision and integrity.
• Support branch operations through night deposit processing, vault transactions, and additional duties as assigned.
• View every interaction as an opportunity to strengthen a relationship and reinforce our commitment to responsible financial stewardship.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• At least 6 months of previous cash handling and customer service experience.
• Previous credit union/bank teller experience is a plus, but not required.
• Comfort navigating a Windows-based system.
• Strong multitasking skills and the ability to remain calm and efficient in a busy environment.
• Excellent listening and communication skills with the ability to identify member needs.
• Accurate cash handling skills and attention to detail.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
