Nursery Attendant
2 hours/ week: Sunday mornings 9:30-11:30
Pay: $19/hour
PURPOSE
The Nursery Attendant is responsible for providing a caring and safe environment for children during the worship hour. The Nursery Attendant will report to the Nursery Director.
REQUIRED SKILLS/STRENGTHS
- Ability to supervise children ages 6 months - 5 years.
- Personality that exhibits warmth, compassion and a nurturing spirit.
- Demonstrated creative thinking skills; organized, responsible and responsive.
- Must be a team player with flexibility.
- Childcare background preferred; experience with children with disabilities is encouraged.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Provide care and supervision for infants - pre-school aged children.
- Engaging children of all ages and abilities in age appropriate play.
- Assist Director of Nursery in management of the nursery room.
- Assist Director of Nursery in maintaining a clean environment; ensuring the nursery and toys are clean prior to children arriving and after departure.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain regular communication with Nursery Director, informing of needed absences well in advance.
- This position will require a minimum of 2 hours weekly.
