Job Title: CT Scan Technologist
Job Location: Hackensack, NJ
Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 4:00 PM–12:30 AM
Friday & Saturday: OFF
Hours: 40 hours/week
Required Candidate Profile
Candidates must have the following:
- CT Technologist experience
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- High School Diploma/GED
- NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License
- ARRT – R.T.(R) certification/license
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning
- Strong knowledge of CT equipment, software, and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of PACS
- Ability to perform complex CT procedures
- Experience with contrast administration, venipuncture, and IV procedures
- Ability to review patient history, prescriptions, and CT protocols
- Ability to work scheduled shifts, including holidays/weekends and on-call assignments as required
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT – R.T.(CT) certification preferred
- Minimum 6 months of CT experience preferred
- Experience with EPIC
- Experience with HIS/RIS systems
- Maintains required CEU credits
Certification Note: Team members are expected to obtain ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months of hire, if not already certified.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing CT procedures and producing diagnostic sectional/3D images
- Preparing and positioning patients for CT scans
- Reviewing patient clinical history and prescriptions
- Following appropriate CT protocols and coordinating with Radiologists/Referring Physicians when clarification is required
- Administering contrast media as prescribed
- Performing venipuncture and maintaining IV access
- Monitoring patients for adverse reactions
- Reviewing images through PACS for identification and diagnostic quality
- Coordinating outside studies/CDs and ensuring availability in PACS
- Providing appropriate patient instructions and addressing patient concerns
- Maintaining accurate documentation in EPIC/PACS
- Supporting patient care across different age groups and populations
- Participating in on-call, overtime, holiday, and weekend coverage as required
Physical/Work Requirements
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for a minimum of 6 hours per day
