Job Title: Permit Coordinator
Division: FiOptix Inc
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Project Manager
Job Summary: This position is responsible for identifying, planning, reviewing, sketching, and acquiring municipal agency permits for the proposed installation of cable and fiber optic networks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Outline proposed telecommunications network cabling
- Gather the necessary information to complete comprehensive drawings, applications, permits and other associated paperwork in order to gain approval from all project shareholders
- Develop and implement best practices for the most accurate and least intrusive methods for applications, installation, and possible maintenance applications while adhering to Company and municipality supplied criteria and specifications
- Monitor the progress of the project and make necessary adjustments to ensure the successful completion of the project
- Identify easements and work with customers, telecommunications, and CATV design teams to resolve issues in the field and ensure project deliverables are met
- Interface with local, city, and state officials to obtain the documentation and information needed to develop a strategy that will allow for working in rights of way and easements
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
Education: Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college, or related technical school
Experience:
- One to two years’ related industry experience
- One to two years’ project coordination experience
Technical Skills:
- Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Basic understanding of design and CAD
- Basic understanding of telecommunications network routing, proposed pole line, and/or underground pathways
- Ability to comprehend public property records, land plats, and blueprints preferred
Soft Skills:
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Superior time management skills
- Ability to work with all levels of management and staff
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
- Ability to sit at a desk for 6-8 hours per day
- Ability to work on a computer for 6-8 hours per day
- May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
