Pacific Collision Center is looking to hire an Auto Detailer/Paint Prep Technician responsible for preparing vehicles for the refinishing process and ensuring repaired vehicles are cleaned, detailed, and ready for customer delivery. This position plays a critical role in maintaining quality standards by properly prepping surfaces for paint, by masking, sanding, and priming vehicles to assist painters. The Body Shop Hours are Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. This is a full-time position that pays hourly; it is non-negotiable and non-commission-based.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of auto detailing/buffing experience is required
- Must have at least one year of color sanding and polishing experience
- Familiarity with BMW Colorsystem (Axalta) and Sikkens Paint lines preferred, but not required
- Ability to submit to a respirator fit test and pass a pulmonary function test
- Ability to incorporate lean processes into running the paint team, which will be taught
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required; Auto Body Painting Trade School Certificate is desirable
- Current Driver's License with a clean driving record
Physical Requirements
- Surroundings: Work is usually performed at the shop where there is exposure to drafts, noise, and fumes from vehicles. Work may also be performed outside under adverse weather conditions
- Regularly: Standing, walking, bending, twisting and/or stooping, kneeling and/or squatting, lifting, reaching and/or lifting overhead, grabbing, pushing and pulling
- Infrequently: Sitting, climbing stairs
Job-Specific Duties Include
- Inspect vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery and poor mechanical operation
- Apply wax, glass coat, and claying process to auto body and wipe or buff surface
- Perform Quality Control checks on paint and reassembly work
- Review work order to ensure all tasks are completed
- Perform Denib/Color Sand operations post-paint and photo document as necessary
- Perform detail packages requested by customer
- Dispose of any hazardous waste properly
- Complete training available on detail products/tools/techniques
