This position will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the Power Plant, ensuring safe, efficient operations to provide consistent power facility-wide. Mitigate risks and address issues proactively. Position will provide safety coaching and mentoring of all employees; oversight of the operation of multiple boilers, including natural gas boilers, recovery boilers and biomass boilers; in partnership with Senior Management, position will identify and drive strategic initiatives in the areas of power generation to improve reliability and efficient operations; work to develop and maintain the 3 to 5 year strategic plan for power generation; manage and lead with a continuous improvement mindset; manage salaried Shift Supervisors and Project Planners; indirectly lead and manage all hourly Union power plant operators and maintenance technicians; identify, prioritize and develop projects that are not yet funded or fully realized; will be responsible for developing and driving cost effective, strategic projects and business improvement opportunities; act as the key subject matter expert regarding power generation; develop solutions to business problems through in-depth analysis and developing innovative solutions; manage outside suppliers and contractors on projects as needed. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field. Extensive work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. A minimum of 5-7 years experience in power generation management desired. Strong process improvement and problem-solving skill sets required. Demonstrated results in the areas of strategic planning and project management required; experience in operations and maintenance leadership roles in heavy industrial manufacturing settings strongly desired. Proven people management skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential; must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Power Point and Project.
