General Definition of Work
The Executive Director of Finance Data Analytics and Reporting, under limited supervision, performs senior level work with considerable decision-making discretion serving as the primary enterprise resource systems reporting and financial data analytics lead for the department. This position focuses on financial dashboards, systems reporting, proactive issue detection, and data remediation. Employee serves as the department technical lead on systems analysis, systems solutions, and the development of new systems to meet user needs. Employee performs complex work to carry out Board of Education policies and procedures related to business systems under the direction of the Chief Finance Officer.

Place of Work
The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.
Essential Functions
- Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff/programs
- Investigate, analyze, and formulate methods for handling special projects/reports
- Establish and support the execution of the modern enterprise resource platform
- Prepare and recommend standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies and procedures that are compliant with laws and regulations within the department
- Oversee new finance enterprise resource systems implementation for department
- Serve as lead on finance reporting, dashboards, data quality, and issue monitoring
- Serve as the finance enterprise resource system primary liaison within the department
- Develop, maintain, and enhance finance-focused dashboards to improve data reliability and audit readiness
- Create proactive monitoring reports, monitor dashboard trends, propose corrective action
- Ensure dashboard outputs are reliable, consistent, and aligned with finance processes
- Responsible for financial data issue detection and continuous monitoring of systems data
- Collaborate with finance team to resolve open issues, close stagnate transactions, and improve data accuracy
- Establish standardized financial data checks to reduce recurring errors
- Identify root causes of invalid codes, overspending, and reconciliation issues
- Recommend improvements to department workflows that prevent incorrect data entry
- Document reporting logic, dashboards, and recurring risk areas for continuity and audit support
- Coordinate with BST on enterprise resource system access and security processes and technical questions requiring escalation
- Facilitate staff meetings and attend other related meetings as needed/required
- Complete local, state, or federal surveys and reports accurately and promptly
- Participate/facilitate in professional development workshops and leadership training
- Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Comprehensive in-depth knowledge and understanding of enterprise resource system analysis, applications programming and program documentation
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to school enterprise resource systems
- Thorough knowledge of advanced principles and techniques of complex computer programming, on-line and web programming, and programming documentation
- Thorough knowledge of advanced data analysis and dashboard development skills
- Ability to proactively identify financial risks and communicate them clearly
- Ability to maintain professional and emotional control under stress

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, accounting/finance, data analytics or related area required
- Master degree in related area preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in systems design and development or related area preferred
- Equivalent combination of experience and education
Special Requirements
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License or ability to provide own transportation
- Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
