As an IT Support Technician, you’ll support hardware and software for our facility staff, answer emailed questions from participants, and take on IT projects. This position is primarily a helpdesk role. The support/helpdesk team members contribute to all levels of tickets—so as you learn our environment and gain experience, you’ll be involved in every stage of troubleshooting.

About the Fieldwork IT Team
We’re spread across the USA! We use chat to communicate, plan, and problem-solve throughout the day. Once a week, we also have a group call. We help and motivate each other while sharing knowledge and experience across the team. We also aim to get together once a year for future planning—and a bit of fun!
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair common issues with employee computers
- Monitor incoming help requests, respond promptly, and work to resolve issues
- Resolve password issues in Microsoft 365 and Active Directory
- Investigate and repair basic network infrastructure issues; familiarity with wireless networks, firewalls, email gateways, and the Microsoft stack is a plus
- Investigate and report issues with our internally developed applications and websites
Required Skills
- Positive and helpful attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service mindset
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and tools
- Experience supporting Windows Server (on-premises and cloud environments)
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365
- Understanding of basic server/network features, functions, configurations, and troubleshooting
- Basic knowledge of networking, routing devices, and protocols
