We’re looking for a detail-driven and experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team in Hunt Valley, MD. In this role, you’ll serve as the go-to expert for all things payroll — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service for both our internal teams and external partners.

If you take pride in precision, enjoy problem-solving, and want to make a meaningful impact across a growing organization, this could be the right fit for you.

What you’ll do:

  • Process payroll for multiple companies and provide backup support for the payroll team.
  • Post WennSoft payroll data daily.
  • Register new tax accounts and manage related compliance documentation.
  • Reconcile quarterly and annual payroll reports.
  • Prepare and process Certified Payroll Reports weekly.
  • Research and resolve payroll tax notices promptly and accurately.
  • Set up and audit wage attachments.
  • Provide audit support to the Finance team as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality with all sensitive employee and company information.
  • Offer backup support to the Director of Payroll and assist with special projects as assigned.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5–10 years of experience managing payroll for a large, multi-state organization.
  • Strong understanding of payroll calculations, wage and hour laws, and FLSA regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe; ERP experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally across all levels of the organization.
  • FPC or CPP certification preferred.
  • Dayforce and Certified Payroll Reporting experience strongly preferred.

Why you'll love working for us:

  • We believe that a fulfilling career goes beyond just a paycheck. Here’s how we make sure our team thrives both professionally and personally:
  • Tech Savvy: State-of-the-art tools and technology to help you work smarter, not harder.
  • Professional Development: Access to world-class continuous learning opportunities, workshops, and certifications.
  • Generous PTO: Ample paid time off to relax, recharge, and explore your passions outside of work.
  • Health & Well-being: Comprehensive Health Plans: Including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Competitive Salary: Base Pay -  $75k to $80k - Commensurate with experience. This range represents a general guideline; however, several factors are considered when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. We offer a compensation package that reflects your skills and experience.

This is more than just a payroll position – it’s an opportunity to grow your career in a company that values innovation, attention to detail, and teamwork.
