About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical VDC Engineer to join our expanding team working on cutting-edge data center projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, management, and implementation of VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) systems, including modeling, photography technologies, and workflow streamlining. Your expertise will help enhance VDC utilization across projects, facilitate collaboration among project teams, and improve overall project efficiency. This position requires working six days a week, Monday through Saturday, to meet project demands and deadlines. As part of our team, you will play a vital role in integrating advanced digital tools such as BIM, 3D, and 4D modeling to optimize project outcomes from preconstruction through completion.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess at least five years of experience supporting VDC in a construction environment, with a strong background in data center projects being highly preferred. Knowledge of the NEC code and LEAN principles is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in reading electrical design documents, including electrical one-line diagrams and panel schedules. Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and independent judgment are essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to effectively collaborate with internal teams and clients. Candidates must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines. Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk, Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, Fuzor, Infraworks, and Adobe Suite is expected, with the ability to learn additional software such as JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling tools.

Responsibilities
- Prepare Electrical Shop, DFI, and DFMA drawings to support project execution.
- Provide quantity takeoff, bill of materials, and scheduling data derived from BIM and 3D models.
- Create and optimize workflows throughout project phases by collaborating with preconstruction and field teams.
- Assist project teams with execution plans, constructability reviews, RFIs, visualization, and schedule phasing.
- Lead clash detection, resolution, and coordination meetings, ensuring all issues are addressed and closed efficiently.
- Facilitate problem-solving using digital tools and promote collaboration among internal and external project stakeholders.
- Provide onsite project engineering support for BIM projects, monitoring installation efficiency, accuracy, and modifications.
- Develop 3D and 4D models, renderings, and simulations for presentations, preconstruction planning, and construction management.
- Create and update training materials in partnership with the learning and development team to promote best practices.
- Research, test, and implement new software and hardware solutions to improve project workflows and outcomes.
- Support companywide initiatives by identifying areas for continuous improvement and collaborating with management on implementation strategies.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining VDC standards and best practices across projects.
- Analyze project metrics and propose enhancements to improve efficiency and performance.
- Provide technical support to project managers onsite, ensuring all BIM documentation is current and accessible.
- Create virtual simulations to validate site logistics, safety protocols, building sequencing, and scheduling, including VR/AR applications.
